Major Cleanup

edit

This article reads like a Strategy guide so I'm cleaning it up. Please help contribute and clean up anything that obviously doesn't belong here. All existing trivia in the article will be intergrated into the article and any other trivia that is added will be removed without further notice. Also a note to anyone wondering where their edits might have gone: If your edit is reverted then it is probably because it was written in a style that reads like a strategy guide, and there have been a LOT of those sorts of edits to this article recently. - .:Alex:. 16:54, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Introduction

edit

OK, I think the first thing that needs to be changed is the portion of the introduction that states that GTA:VCS is the "latest installment" in the GTA series. Obviously, this is already a defunct statement with the release of GTA IV, and I think any statement like this should be avoided at all costs, since we are talking about a series of games that is ever-expanding. Besides, Alex said it best: it reads like a strategy guide or a fansite. I'm going to work on re-wording the introduction. Eganio 20:28, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is currently no change necessary to the introduction, as since GTA IV has not yet been released, it is not yet the latest installment, and GTA:VCS is. Adg2k7 (talk) 00:28, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

"This article may contain excessive or improper use of copyrighted images and/or audio files."

edit

IP address 81.79.80.239 added the "This article may contain excessive or improper use of copyrighted images and/or audio files." template but gives no reason to why he or she added it on the talk page. From what I can see, all the images have fair use notes and all of the images have something to do with the game. Should we remove this? Gamerzworld (talk) 00:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:072406111853 vcsboxart.jpg

edit

Image:072406111853 vcsboxart.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ive been playing the PS2 version of the game for about 2 years now, and i can recall a song by AC/DC on V-Rock playing every once in a while, so please check the official Rockstar Games Site & update this accordingly, Thanks. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.229.108.85 (talk) 07:03, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

And More improvements

edit

Plot could be padded out a bit, Also, do we need a small bit about GTA:VC's events and how it effects VCS? Gsp8181 21:05, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't VCS happen two years -before- VC? If so, I don't see how VC could affect VCS. Lots42 (talk) 17:32, 27 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Images

edit

I would very much like to see an in-game screenshot from this game. The current screenshot looks like a cutscene, and is hardly representative. If it *is* an in-game screenshot, perhaps a small note to the image caption could be added to make this more clear? I don't have access to this game so I can not create the screenshot myself. pipatron (talk) 19:04, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notability of PC Edition Mod

edit

There appears to be a modding group who has adapted this game to run on a PC as well. While I haven't tested/played this mod, this does seem notable to me, as it adds a completely new platform. I will leave it up to consensus to determine if it belongs in the article (as an external link or otherwise). 108.222.221.203 (talk) 15:05, 26 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 07:50, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
