vandalism edit

Considering he's alive and he's about to be designated prime minister of a very very unpopular government, should semi-protection be requested here? Vandalism is likely to continue from anonip, but it's also likely that this high-profile article will get a lot of visits from the curious, making the likelihood of embarrassment for wikipedia fairly high. I'm not sure if this is the best course of action, but it's a thought. - TheMightyQuill (talk) 20:46, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

resignation? edit

I know that it would be hard to explain the Hungarian rights to English language readers, but I think it's rather incorrect to state that Ferenc Gyurcsány announced his resignation. He announced at once that he wants a constructive vote of no-confidence exactly because he wanted to avoid the lengthy procedure following a resignation. I think using "constructive vote of no-confidence" instead of resignation would be more correct and would be hard to challenge from either side of the politics. 81.182.237.53 (talk) 10:06, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure as to your level of English, but if you read the sources, or other sources you will see that he announced his resignation is absolutely correct, the exact words were something like "I will remove the obstacle that is me let us find a new PM in two weeks". In all the press it was called announcement of resignation or said he intends to resign etc etc. He simply said "I will go away". After he announced his resignation he didn't actually resign but remained in office until 14th of April. This is why the text said announced resignation not that he actually resigned formally, just in word. In essence he said "I resign" but didn't submit the paperwork to the president. SOmeone keeps changing his name edit

Someone keeps changing Gordon Banyai's name spelling. At English Wikipedia, we use English preferentially. COmpare [1] which shows lots of English language sources versus [2], which shows only non-English sources using the alternate spelling. Since this is English Wikipedia, we use the English-language version of his name. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 21:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

lol, that was not his name, that was a word play on "libatolvaj" (goose thief) which he is usually called... – Alensha talk 23:33, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Since this is English Wikipedia, we use the English-language version of his name." Thus in the Hungarian Wikipedia you obviously spell it as Seggszpír ... : ) Names only changed when the foreign font is not readable: Chinese, Korean etc. One would expect them to write my name with their characters. Let's just adhere to the language-origin-spelling. Besides, we would like you to present the source of your statement "the English-language version of his name". In other words, how do you know that THIS IS the English-language version of his name? Without linking the source, it is your private research/theory - not allowed in Wikipedia.
