editThis paper has some info on the canyon-fill sediments. This one has some info e.g. figure E. Typical deposit of a sediment gravity-flow from the Carmelo Formation submarine canyon-fill, Paleocene Point Lobos, California (drawn from the description by Clifton, 1984, and his fig. 14. That refers to Clifton, H.E., 1984. Sedimentation units in stratified resedimented conglomerate, Paleocene submarine canyon fill, Point Lobos, California. In: E.H. Koster and R.J. Steel (Editors), Sedimentology of Gravels and Conglomerates. Mem. Can. Soc. Pet. Geol., 10: 429-441. The Clifton paper looks pretty useful but it doesn't seem to be available online. Ah, Point Lobos, such a nice place. Sean.hoyland - talk 07:38, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, please consider adding the info and sources to the article itself.--Mbz1 (talk) 18:02, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Name of article
editThis article is about the Geology of Point Lobos, rather than just its history, so perhaps that would be a better name for the article. Mikenorton (talk) 22:13, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I've come round to the current title, although I can see it being changed at some point. Mikenorton (talk) 19:40, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it might have been better as it was before.--Mbz1 (talk) 19:42, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
