Death date wrong? edit
"On May 27th 1945 Guenther Anhalt was killed in action while defending Berlin."
I am suspicious of this date, since it's well after the end of hostilities. Either Anhalt died earlier, or he died as some sort of post-War fanatic who wouldn't lay down his arms. If the latter, that's hardly part of the defense of Berlin, which ended in early May. Afabbro 04:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Rewrite + question on Wormhoudt involvement edit
This article just underwent a major overhaul. There are still some unanswered questions, chiefly:
What exactly was Anhalt's involvement in the Wormhoudt Massacre? Research through Wikipedia has suggested that he was a commander of a smaller unit in the same battalion, and was promoted there only 18 days before the massacre. It seems like a strong possibility that he was involved, but I can't find exactly which unit actually threw the grenades. Anyone who knows should kindly post that here. - So, it's been almost four years. Any new information about his involvement? At least it should be determined whether the 6th Kompanie (his subdivision of the II. bataillon) was even in the area at that particular time... it surely wasn't the whole II. bataillon (how many would that be? several hundreds is my guess) that threw the grenades. Wikipedia says "up to 12 soldiers") "Was possibly involved" is definitely unencyclopedic. -- megA (talk) 19:08, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
- I just found a little snippet on the axishistory forum:
"You need to read up on what actually happened. Members of the 7th Co, II Battalion, LAH, under the orders of CO Wilhelm Mohnke, forced 65-80 British POWs into a barn and then machine gunned and grenaded them to death. The incident occured not during the fighting but afterward."
Now this is, of course, unsourced, but the poster mentions the 7th, not the 6th Company. G. Anhalt was CO of the 6th Company. Does anyone have verifiable facts? -- megA (talk) 19:45, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Notability edit
Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & has a minor level of notability as the Holocaust perpetrator and possibly for this actions during the battle of Berlin. Marginal at best, so redirecting for now. Sources that come up: link.
