Talk:Foothill High School (Orange County, California)

Edits edit

After checking back on this probably over a year since I started it, I'm glad to see that someone with some information about "old" Foothill High School is editing it! I fixed a bunch of silliness I found when I was checking it randomly today -- unfortunately, I am no longer a student of Foothill, so I cannot continue to provide accurate information. While Foothill High School is part of the Tustin Unified School District, the campus is located in the Santa Ana zip code 92705. FHS is NOT located within the Tustin city limits and is in unincorporated Orange County as such. Therefore, the mailing address is recognized as a Santa Ana entity and should be considered as such.T.E. Goodwin 01:31, 4 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

On August 3rd, 2006 I added the category of "Notable Graudates." To be included in this category special achievement has to be authenticated. The usual means on Wikipedia is by furnishing a URL to your website. Simply being a graduate of FHS is not sufficient for inclusion in this category. T.E. Goodwin 03:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm gonna go ahead and change the introduction back. There are some very unprofessional elements (like capitalization of city) as well as the completely incorrect fact of why it is a Santa Ana school (it's because we are unincorporated into any city, but are in the Santa Ana county). --HubbubJub 04:53, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notable Graduates edit

MarsRover removed all but one notable graduate. No reason given for removal here. I suggest that notable graduates resumbit their names and associated websites.T.E. Goodwin 01:34, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

That wasn't me. I removed one addition. That of "Matthew Seoane, M.T." in which the reference provided clearly stated he went to Beverly Hills High School. But now that you brought it up I don't really disagree with the removal of the others. If someone is really notable wouldn't they have an article? --MarsRover 06:03, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, the usual standard for notability in this context is having an article. However, if folks haveing really accomplished something notable then a redlink may be appropriate as a signal that we should have an article about that person. It's up to the discretion of editors. If there is a redlink then an accompanying external link to a 3rd party article about them would be helpful. -Will Beback · · 08:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • As a graduate of FHS ('67) I know that since 1966 there are more than a few notable people that could be cited. Not just one person in show business. I concur about 3rd party articles. It's just a matter of reviewing the yearbooks and finding the articles. I will work on this when I get more time after the Christmas season. T. E. Goodwin 05:31, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Foothill HS logo.gif edit

Image:Foothill HS logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
