Was the wife of her black father her biological mother or was she just adopted by a mixed race family? If we assume she stayed with her biological mother then can we rephrase: "Would it be accurate to rephrase this as raised by her white mother and black stepfather, she was often thought to be a light skinned black woman." --Gbleem 21:45, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I made some changes. She had a white biological father and a white biological mother therefore most people would consider her white when asked to put her in a racial category then and now. The rules are to use reliable sources. If someone's sex life has not been written about in a book, newspaper or magazine, it is probably not notable enough for mention. If it has, make sure that you cite who is talking about it and why. This is an absolute requirement when writing about living persons, but is still a good guideline to follow for anyone else. --Dhartung | Talk 08:12, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Real Age

According to many net sources, she was born in 1900. I have not changed this in the article, but if anyone has a good source (not just net or wiki hearsay) for 1900 they should change the article.

Incorrect local description: "baseball player"

I can't figure out how to edit the local description, but it reads "Baseball player." Effa Manley was not a baseball player; it should read "baseball executives." Tomemos (talk) 04:18, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
