Jackson is not German

edit

I've removed mentions and categories that state that Jackson is German because, well, he isn't German. He was the child of a member of the US military who happened to be born on a military base outside of the United States. However, that doesn't make him German. That makes him an American born on a military base in Germany. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:50, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Totally agree. Has he ever referred to any German heritage whatsoever? Why even mention this? I'll take it out, and if anybody restores it, please justify importance. Gprobins (talk) 12:19, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Page Move

edit

We've got three different athletes with the exact same name, but in 3 different sports. The other 2 are identified with the name of their sport in parentheses, but this page was not, which is what I remedied by moving the page to Edwin Jackson (baseball). I was endeavoring to convert the redirect page to a DAB page, when I discovered to my shock and astonishment that somebody had already moved the page back to its former name. Good grief, why would we not treat all 3 pages the same way, using the same naming convention for all 3 of them? Why would this even need discussion? Maybe this one is the WP:COMMONNAME. Or maybe I acted rashly. I just had a look through sourcing and I no longer think it is. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:44, 27 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Your response is much appreciated. Anomalous+0 (talk) 11:35, 27 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

2019 Status?

edit

He last pitched for Oakland in 2018, and he signed a minor league contract for 2019. Although he hasn't pitched at the major league level, the initial sentence lists him as a pitcher for Oakland. Technically, he now pitches in the Oakland minor league system. Shouldn't this be reworded until he returns to the major leagues? Gprobins (talk) 12:42, 11 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
