There are serious clean-up issues with this article: organization, focus, and the exclusion of non-notable information should all be priorities. Right now, it reads like a eulogy.

Why is Ukraine mentioned as his country? Was he ever representing an independent Ukraine or even had its passport? He certainly played for the Soviet Union. If Ukraine is mentioned as simply a geographical place where he lived, so should be Georgia and the USA.
