A quick google search shows quite a few seemingly reliable sources [1][2][3] saying otherwise. Based on your edits to your business' page, I would assume you to be an expert, so you should be able to provide some WP:RS that can clear this up. Toddst1 (talk) 01:53, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
In the end, it does not matter to me, I was just trying to correct the error. I you want to base your decision on inaccurate information that is up to you. If you do a real search you will find Verdier's site, or ours, which will give you the correct spelling. There is no accent on the E of Edouard. The only accents are in the middle and last name. Just realized you flagged this as a conflict of interest. That made me laugh. I am curious how trying to correct an error in spelling of someone's name falls under a conflict of interest? My only 'interest' is seeing that the information is corrected. Also, look at https://www.edouardcortes.org/vol1/index_en.php -- this is the current expert's site. This painter should not be labeled a Postimpressionist. He was born in 1882, so his career probably didn't begin until the early twentieth century, at which point Postimpressionism is a movement of the past. Postimpressionism actually dates to the early 1880s (when this man was born) and its most notable practitioners (Gauguin, Van Gogh, and Seurat) were born between 1848 and 1859. His style is closer to that of Impressionism; I suspect he's been labeled a Postimpressionist in only the broadest sense of the term, meaning that he's working chronologically after the period of Impressionism.
