Fair use rationale for Image:Ecotopia Cover.jpg edit

Image:Ecotopia Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

As someone who has read the novel edit

How were my edits unjustified? I have read Ecotopia (ISBN-13: 978-0960432011), it reads like a hyper-Right wing Fan fiction that makes the Beckist connect the dots book (ISBN-13: 978-1414334905), seem like a reasonable Amy Goodman lecture. regionalist/race baiting Right-wing fantasy "novel"

Ecotopia is a fun read, if... you get turned on by reading The Turner Diaries (ISBN-10: 1569800863), Mien Kamph (ISBN: 0944092403), the Left Behind series, Sara Palin's Going Rogue: An American Life or .T. Edson' The South Will Rise Again.

This book exists, therefore the article should, but the article is too long and ignores the novels promotion of overt racial segregationist, misogynist, community blood sports, terrorist and the expectation that Ecotopian female healthcare providers must perform sex acts on male patients as part of a "holistic" medical approach. But hey, at lest Ecotopians recycle! :)

public access television edit

It's been too long since I read the novel to recall the use of television in it, but from the article's text, it seems that its use is more like public access t.v. than reality t.v. (which is at least in part staged and scripted). Public access was broadcasting library events and meetings, town hall/city council meetings and the like by the early '80s.Kdammers (talk) 01:07, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I thin you're right about that.Joel Russ (talk) 17:11, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Similar book edit

Die Gelehrtenrepublik by Arno Schmidt has many parallels to this book. Years ago, Callenbach answered a letter I wrote to him, saying that he had never heard of Schmidt. Still, the coincidences are interesting. Kdammers (talk) 00:21, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
