Staggering edit

Does anyone know why the station is staggered the way it is? Staggered stations are usually (so far as I can see) arranged so that when a train is at a platform, the gates are behind it and can be opened for traffic. East Farleigh is built the other way round, with the result that for trains in either direction the traffic has to wait during both the approach and the standing time. I can't think of another one like this. I was there the other day and was puzzled. Peridon (talk) 10:35, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
