Mother (video game series) → Earthbound (series) – similar to how the seiken densetsu series article is called the mana series on wikipedia and famicom is called NES on Wikipedia, let's call it by its international name for consistency. Grandmaster Huon (talk) 21:53, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose No valid rationale given. EarthBound refers to only two of the 5 releases of the series: The original localization of MOTHER 2, and the much later localization of MOTHER 1 (which, EarthBound Beginnings is detailed at Mother (video game), as appropriate). Mother 1+2 and MOTHER 3 were released under original titles internationally. Reliable sourcing, such as IGN, refer to the series as Mother, as does [Nintendo Life https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/11/shigesato_itoi_on_the_mother_series_popularity_denies_mother_4?]. Sources do alternate some, but it's clear that the predominate title of the series and it's games is Mother. -- ferret (talk) 22:06, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose "Mother" is arguably the most common name for the series, even in the English language. Unlike Seiken Densetsu 3, Mother 3 was never given an English name after the fact, as it was never localized, so it would pretty much never be called "EarthBound 2" despite that presumably being what its English name would be. While Mother 1 got localized eventually, it's a pretty minor and obscure game in comparison.. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 04:32, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Mikeblas, thanks for fixing what I couldn't do with that note. I thought I should say that I didn't have anything to do with adding any references, they were just there when I made my edits and as a passerby I was unsure of what else to do. Have a good day!
