eDL in Japan

Does anyone have knowledge about the integration of eDLs (electronic or extended Driver Licenses) in Japan? Some sites claim it has already been integrated, but the iso is never fully stated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.179.111.210 (talk) 15:46, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

English variety

• There are variety of reasons why the spelling "lincese" should be used. First, it was the original spelling used at the time of creation of the article. Second, the most relevant authorities in Japan (the National Police Agency and Japan Auto Federation) on the matter of licensing use "license" in their documents. Clarification on Driver's License cost

Just wanted to point out that the cost of the license from a driving school is not around $4000. That's just the cost that a blogger was quoted to attend a particular driving school. The driving school will help make sure that you pass the test, but if you're not afraid of failing, you can just repay to take the test again after a cool down period. The driving school does not administer the license either. While each branch and area probably has different costs, the cost to take the license conversion test and get the card was about $60 for me. --Tito151 (talk) 07:14, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

• @Tito151: You're correct, I know lots of people who failed more than once and never paid for the school. If you can dig up some reliable sources to correct that part of the article, please do. • @Mccunicano: It took a bit of Googling and scanning past the blog and driving school ads, but I was able to find an Iwate Prefectural website with a full break down of the costs of a driver's license. http://www2.pref.iwate.jp/~hp0802/oshirase/menkyo/menkyo/10tesuuryou.html Again, these fees probably vary by prefecture, but I think it's a good base to show that there is a notable difference between the license cost and the driving school cost.
