Talk:Disappearance of Ashley Summers

News

edit

The section at Wikipedia:ONEEVENT reads "The general rule is to cover the event, not the person." As far as I know, this draft talks more about the disappearance (the event) than it does about Summers (the person) herself. Wikipedia:EVENTCRIT also gives the criteria for notability for events. As demonstrated by the sources already present in the draft, the event has been covered time and time again over the course of multiple years as new leads became available (i.e. the one from 2013 about the Seymour Avenue rescue, and the one in 2015 about the (unfortunately) false reappearance). 98.118.4.223 (talk) 15:36, 17 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Initial review under new article curation / review

IMO this topic does not meet wp:notability under either wp:GNG nor the events SNG and probably not notnews. Essentially a one time disappearance / news event. The later coverage and much of the article is about unrelated events where somebody postulated that there might be a connection. I'm not AFD'ing this nor marking it as reviewed; it could use another set of eyes besides mine. A tragic event and so sorry if there is a connection to the person. I'm just trying to do my job properly. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 14:41, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I added some content to the article. I added information about a phone call from August 2007 that is believed to be Summers herself, and the sexual abuse sentencing event from February 2020. Seckends (talk) 20:47, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
