Patriotic hero, or cynical opportunist?

edit

The status of patriotic hero attributed to Diego Silang and his wife Gabriela seems questionable and very doubtful. If we analyze their actions, they were not fighting for the independence of the Filipino people. They were willing to submit to British colonial power in exchange for high positions and power under a new colonial domination, equal or worse than the Spanish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.86.17.1 (talk) 12:26, 9 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
