Current Role edit

It seems Derek O'Brien currently heads the Passenger Services Committee in Indian Railways.

Derek O'Brien (quizmaster)Derek O'Brien (politician and public speaker) – Derek O'Brien is no longer a quizmaster. He is an active Member of Parliament. Joymitro (talk) 17:01, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Move to Derek O'Brien (politician) In ictu oculi (talk) 23:03, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Agreed with In ictu oculi. Nom is correct that "(quizmaster)" isn't appropriate now (if it every was), but "(politician and public speaker)" fails WP:CONCISE and is redundant (all politicians are public speakers or they could never get elected or do their jobs).  — SMcCandlish ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ʌ<  12:24, 2 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Move to (politician) per In ictu oculi. Nominator is correct that quizmaster is no longer his primary notability claim — serving in the Rajya Sabha clearly supersedes it — but disambiguators are required to be as concise as possible, so the "politician and public speaker" version is more excessive than actually needed here. Farmers' Bills Controversy edit

It is written that he tore the rulebook as a sign of protest and while that might be true, I feel like it is important to add his stance too. According to what I know, Derek O'Brian says that the rulebook was torn by the hustle and not on purpose. This will show both the views to the reader. Kash Up (talk) 09:03, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
