John Allen Muhammad

edit

John Allen Muhammad is set to be executed on Nov. 10... why isn't he listed? if the person is scheduled to die, does his name need to be listed the moment he dies? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.19.174.249 (talk) 21:44, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's 4:50 pm Eastern as I write this, and the man isn't scheduled to be executed till 9 pm. Why in the world would you want to list him as dead before he is actually dead? What if there's a stay of execution? What if there's a power failure? What if extra-terrestrials land outside the White House and we're all so distracted that people forget to execute the guy? But, hey, far be it from me to even attempt to tell any "editor" at the Wiki what anybody should do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.184.81.49 (talk) 21:55, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fort Hood shooting

edit

One editor persists in adding the names of every victim of the Fort Hood shooting. There is no precedent for adding the names of every victim of a mass murderer. The criteria at WP:BIO1E have not been met. Wikipedia is not a memorial. WWGB (talk) 23:03, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Shaniya Davis

edit

Will she be added to this list? the little 5 year old girl who was found murdered and her mom and some creepy dude was the suspect? I am only asking, cause there is no wikipedia article on her yet...i dont know how to make a wikipedia article, otherwise I would do it myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.207.225.251 (talk) 06:16, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

She isn't notable for an article in her own name, however, no doubt someone will create Murder of Shaniya Davis in due course. WWGB (talk) 06:51, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

H. C. Robbins Landon

edit

The only cite that seems to exist was published 23 November, and gave no date of death. Yet he's listed at 20 November. Does that editor know something the rest of the world doesn't? -- JackofOz (talk) 19:50, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK, I see it now. I missed "Freitag" = Friday. -- JackofOz (talk) 12:10, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Art Savage

edit

His notability is that he was the original owner of the San Jose Sharks. 169.233.57.145 (talk) 03:41, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, deaths listed in Recent deaths are intended for notable persons. Art Savage does not have a Wikipedia article and hence his notability has not been confirmed. There is consensus (see here for example) that redlinks remain for one month after the death in case an article is written. You might consider writing a short stub article on Art Savage to confirm his notability? Regards, WWGB (talk) 04:39, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
