E.A. Sports

He actually isn't the voice of EA Sports. THe voice is that of Andrew Anthony, and was confirmed to me by EAsports.com (through a customer service ticket) but also in an article on IGN back a few years. I could almost swear that I read Hayter confirm that it's him, something along the lines of "I was in the studio recording some lines, they asked me if I could try the 'EA Sports' line, and I did it." THAT'S WRONG!!! I also spoke with IGN and David Hayter is the voice. User "Docbengal" didn't understand that Andrew Anthony did the voice for the TV commercials- that's it. It also says that right on that article from IGN. The line for the commercials is different; it says, "If it's in the game, it's in the game". Daivd Hayter does the voice for the EA games; it's even in the credits at the end of any EA Game that included that line. I'm adding it in. It's pretty funny how people are idiots and think they're all rough with their information. But I'm not like that. I'm done.

Trivia

I did a little rewording and grammatical editing to the trivia section. It still needs a little work, I think.

I removed the entire first trivia entry. The unverified statement about Kojima liking English voice acting doesn't seem worth noting in this article. I think it's also unlikely that English voice acting was used for Integral simply because Kojima may have liked Hayter's voice. The statements that the Japanese versions of MGS2: Substance and MGS3: Subsistence give the choice of either Japanese or English voice acting is, as far as I know, entirely untrue (unless the Wikipedia entries on those two games are incorrect), and they're really not relevant statements.

I removed the last sentence in the second entry: "However, many users were dissapointed when they learned the Soundtrack was reworked, if not, totally remade, as well." This is irrelevant.

Citations are also needed for the second and third (now first and second) trivia entries, but I don't know how to insert the "[citation needed]" into the article.

I also believe that the final statement in the biography section should either be moved into the trivia section, or removed altogether: "It is speculated that Hayter could play Solid Snake in the announced live-action Metal Gear Solid movie, or possibly work on the screenplay adaptation." This was simply some speculation by GameSpot, and shouldn't be in the biography, and the statement about Hayter possibly working on the screenplay is already mentioned in the trivia section.

I am readding first one unless you could seriously find reason to find it unverifiable.

I have the actual article from magazine GameInformer. It is a Issue 104, revealing Integral's reason for English voice-work. This issue is one which also contains the interview based on the original third trivia. The back issue of 152 saids MGS2:S and MGS3:S has following info I have mentioned. Also, I have MGS2:S NTSC/DVD-Region 2 and it features English voice work.

So the magazine actually said that the reason for the English voices in Integral is because Kojima said he prefers English voices? If that's the case, then it's fine, but I think it should be mentioned in the article that Game Informer was the source of information, and not that it was simply a rumor. However, I still think this is simply something that should be on the MGS page, and not this page, unless Kojima specifically said he prefers Hayter over Akio Otsuka (Snake's Japanese voice actor).

As for the voices in Substance and Subsistence, I do know that the Japanese version of Substance has English voices and Subsistence has Japanese voices, but what you're saying is that they contain both Japanese and English voices. According to the Wikipedia articles on those games, and as far as I have always understood, this isn't the case. The Japanese version of Substance contains only English voices, and the Japanese version of Subsistence contains only Japanese voices.

I'll leave everything as it is for now.

In that case I'm just going to edit the entry for now, but I won't delete it. I removed the incorrect information about Subsistence, and edited the sentence about Substance so that it says the game only contains English voice acting. As for the first part, I just reworded it to sound better, but I still think it should be moved to the Integral section of the MGS article (and the part that "Kojima might like David Hayter's voice better"--as if he actually gave an indication that he prefers the voice over Akio Otsuka--should be removed). -68.114.154.249 16:10, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, in the SSB series, characters that have English and Japanese voices (obviously, depending on the nation) in their respective series have always been voiced by their Japanese voices in the SSB series. I know that this is off-topic, but I'm so relieved that Nintendo decided to hire the original voice actors for them in SSBB. This game will be colossal... First "it could be true" implies that it's not known to be true. Wikipedia is not a venue for speculation. Second, any editor can raise a concern about the verifiability of an article (or whether it meets any other guideline). It is consensus among editors that determines what course to take - and I see pretty clear consensus that the death rumour is just that: a rumour without a reliable source. The only difference between an administrator and any other registered user is the ability of the admin to follow through on certain tasks, e.g. protecting the article against edits by unregistered users (which another admin has done because of all the edits by anonymous users). —C.Fred (talk) 16:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

However I'm not siding with him, but I did hear the anime [convention http://www.activeanime.com/html/content/view/2821/58/] about two weeks ago. This post is today, but it could be an error of news. People didn't even know Brandon Lee died during The Crow until four days later or so (other than his family and actors/director).

He did his voice work in the 2000 dub by Manga. Normally, "English version" would be sufficiently clear, but there are two English versions.
