Reactivating CDR Grace Hopper (1967)
editUSS Liberty was attacked during the Six-Day War among Middle East countries on 8 June 1967.
- During this incident, the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) was faced with a Zero-Sum Game
- decision WHETHER :to deploy Sixth Fleet's Naval Aircraft resources
to help repel unknown attacking forces.
This event resulted in reactivating retired CDR Grace Hopper during August 1967.
As Assistant DCNO (Air) (1967), David C. Richardson (admiral) sponsored adapting a DIKW pyramid
- to enable co-creating a JCS-WWMCCS Sea Surveillance System
- with multiple CDC 1604 mainframes directed by an Automated Control Environment (ACE)
- using CDC 160 series minicomputers. EarthSea-Keeper (talk) 11:59, 27 April 2023 (UTC)

WWMCCS “Sea Surveillance Systems” Support (1971)
editAs acting FOCCPAC-Kunia (C35-1971), I briefed #CincPacFlt-DCS / VADM D.C. Richardson on “input integrity assurance” algorithms to replace "last-in first-out" (LIFO) heuristics. (UNCLAS-FOUO)
Q: What “trust-based source weighting” input options might assure SWAG position "guesstimates" didn’t prevail?
Required MoveRep sourcing provided unreliable positions of intended movement. Capturing USN hourly synoptic weather reporting positions reflected current reality.
Merchant ship tracking only captured major port arrivals and departures. Computer-aided Search And Rescue (SAR) support generated CASPER output. CASPER = Contact Area Summary Position Estimate Report (Urgent Messaging)
A: Where SWAG = Scientific Wild-Assed Guess: Often GIGO results: "Garbage-In / Garbage-Out" Else Sunk Cost Fallacy: "Garbage-In / Gospel-Out" GeoVenturing (talk) 19:03, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- Adapting public sector internal audit (IA) practices for assuring integrity (correct / complete/ current / consistent) of weighted trust-based input sources became a guideline for enhancing WWMCCS subsystems. Current terminology for this process is Information assurance (IA) GeoVenturing (talk) 10:14, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
