Talk:Daniel Levy (businessman)

Comment edit

"Daniel Levy has invested a large proportion into the relative gamble of investing in the potential of expensive youth players. Levy is currently under pressure to improve White Hart Lane or move to a new stadium. Levy has seen Tottenham slip away from local rivals Arsenal who have invested in an excellent new 55,000 seater stadium. Levy must also invest in top players in order to give Martin Jol the chance to break into the top 4. The fear now for Tottenham is Liverpool and Arsenal both recently considerably improving their financial resources."

the above is an opinion with no fact to back it up... it is well known that Arse*al have gone in to a huge amount of debt to fund their new stadium (its nicknamed Cashburden grove for a reason!!) this is why they are looking around for potential investors.

Religion edit

I don't understand why Daniel Levy's religious beliefs are of any importance here. Is it simply the fact that he is Jewish and Tottenham are understood to be, in at least some quarters, a 'Jewish Club?' I am removing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.29.174 (talk) 00:56, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

He is Jewish, I see no reason why you should remove that fact. Also for the past 20 years the ownership of the club has had a rather Jewish backing as Alan Sugar and Levy being both Jewish brings a certain amount of character to the club. Govvy (talk) 14:16, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
You need to bring sources in that cites his religion if you want it to be added, you cannot just add something of that importance and not relate anything to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.255.49.181 (talk) 16:09, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Update Required edit

This article uses the words "in the last few weeks" and also needs an update as Tottenham failed to win the Olympic Stadium bid — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.148.120.192 (talk) 21:02, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ad template edit

I have added the ad template because most of the article seems to be written in an overly-fawning way. I'll keep it there until descriptors like "iconic stadium" "pioneer" "instrumental" "groundbreaking design" etc. are corrected. This reads like an advertisement to invest in Levy's company.

As well, the BLP tag was not added by me and needs to stay. Wikipedia has a policy of making sure all living person articles have sufficient citations, so this is normally put on most pages about living persons. Additionally, the last section "off the pitch" will need more wikifying (linking words to pages associated with double brackets.)

You know, instead of pointing things out you could have a go at editing, fixing issues you feel are wrong with the article. Govvy (talk) 15:47, 1 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Rewrite edit

I think a large part of the article needs to be rewritten. Daniel Levy may be responsible for hiring and firing of managers and he is also involved in buying and selling players, but he is not responsible for team selection and how the team perform, therefore a lot of what's written here is not that relevant. A lot of the content will be deleted. Hzh (talk) 22:54, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Removed external link edit

Removed link to Standard hits back at Spurs ban. I don't think it's notable enough to include. If it is notable enough to include the link, then I believe it would have to be notable enough to write about in the body of the article. Cafemusique (talk) 15:25, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
