Internal pages: Something like: [2][3]). Such pages are not fluff, but can be good places to find recruits for the project, possibly including subject-matter experts, especially if cross-referenced to the project. Also, Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Cue sports (cf. [4][5][6]).
Create timelines, both textual and graphical. See link for various guidelines and examples. We need an overall one for cue sports generally, and more specific ones as we drill down into more specific topics (timeline of nine-ball, timeline of Willie Mosconi's career, etc.).
Form sections: Exhibition game needs section on cue sports; could later form a new article with "Main article..." xref to it. What other general articles need cue sports sections?
Images: improve articles with images from commons; create pics and add them to commons as GFDL/CC-by/PD.
Add: {{Sport overview}} to main articles of cue games that are real sports; medal table tags where they apply (see Ding Junhui for example).
Insert: Cue sports events (tournament results, etc.) into the "year in sports" categories (e.g. 1965 in sports), using {{subst:Cue sports heading}} if that year doesn't have one yet.

Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles for GA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Cleanup : * Sport governing body (this should-be-major article is in a shameful state) * Field hockey (History section needs sources and accurate information - very vague at the moment.) * Standardize Category:American college sports infobox templates to use same font size and spacing. * Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."

The opening of this article identifies it as a "bastardization" of billiards. This was recently changed to "variant" which was reverted by BQZip01 with the edit summary indicating that it is "not a variant" and citing WP:NOTCENSORED. However I do not believe that edit had anything to do with censorship. Bastardization implies that it has been corrupted or otherwise *made worse* which is a value judgment. Variant on the other hand, is accurate and impartial. Rather than revert again I have rephrased to use neither terminology. 216.36.186.2 (talk) 20:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good compromise. I'll buy it. I think anyone who plays crud would agree though that Crud is indeed a corrupted form of billiards and has definitely been made "worse" that the gentlemanly game of billiards. I guess I misunderstood your argument in your summary. No hard feelings, right? :-) — BQZip01 —talk 03:42, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I remember seeing this in a mid-1990s Pelit article on Air Warrior/Warbirds and associated matters. I should dig it up before someone else does. --Kizor 23:37, 18 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone have any insights about finding proper citations and sources in general? Maybe someone with military connections or experience would know where crud would have been written about. I've found a few things using Google Books... Drpenguino (talk) 23:14, 7 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
The sub-headings below Rules could use citations and could be simplified Drpenguino (talk) 00:02, 8 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've seen commercially printed rules for crud in the same format as 8-Ball and Snooker framed and posted on mess walls, so they do exist beyond just locally-produced rule-sets. Loopy30 (talk) 01:25, 8 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
