Talk:Creep (2014 film)

Exploiting "Tomatometer" edit

No sense in beating around the bush. This movie is awful. With my tin foil hat and everything, I think rottentomatoes and online content providers (iTunes in particular) are being manipulated to show this film in a better light than it otherwise deserves. For sales. Creep has a mere twelve critic reviews in RT as of 7/3/2015. A similar horror indie, What We Do in the Shadows, has 120 critic reviews, ten times as many. Is there a point where RT's tomatometer should be discarded? And I mean, pure statistics. Twelve reviews shouldn't be a beacon for a successful movie. In fact, almost the opposite is true. So few reviews with near universal praise indicate manipulation of the audience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.217.8.207 (talk) 03:18, 3 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

A small sample size decreases the significance of the figures. This is why we generally include the number of reviews used to create the scores from Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic, and this article previously failed to do that. The scores are not as important as the reviews, which is why it is important to include details from actual reviews, it all makes a lot more sense when you see a review that explains the film might appeal to mainstream viewers but not so much to existing horror fans. -- 109.77.223.237 (talk) 10:32, 23 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

That's all I have on a first pass, so it's on hold. Incidentally, I saw and enjoyed this movie a year or so back. So it was really nice to read more about it. Cheers. The Rambling Man (Staying alive since 2005!) 19:20, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

If I don't receive any feedback from my comments by 12 April, I will fail the nomination. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 21:12, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Happy to allow time as long as I know you're getting to it! Cheers. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 13:25, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hey ReaderofthePack, hope you're well. Do you think you'll be getting to this soon? Cheers, The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 07:20, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • With the budget, I can't find anything definite - pretty much everything just describes it as "low budget" or "microbudget". ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 23:23, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • With the capitalizations in the sourcing, I'm a little uncertain about changing the capitalization since that is how the source itself styled the title - the other thing is that this is also one of the way the title is styled (I added a note about this in the lead).
As far as the sequel section goes, what other information should I add? I can add some about the reception, but anything else? ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 23:46, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
