Hannah Arendt
editSomething needs to be said about the role that de Kiewiet plays in the thinking of Hannah Arendt. His account of the history of South Africa has an enormous role on the development of Arendt's own thinking about race (cf. Chapter 7 of Origins of Totalitarianism, "Race and Bureaucracy." In this chapter, de Kiewiet [sometimes cited as just Kiewiet, sometimes cited as de Kiewiet] is cited relentlessly, to the extent that one thinks the entire chapter is basically lifted from his book). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.232.118.88 (talk) 06:02, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
