Directed only edit

Contrary to what is claimed, this list seems to only have movies Eastwood has appeared in. Directed-only films such as Bird and Mystic River are left out. Wasted Time R 16:48, 29 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pre-FLC review edit

A quick scan; I'll get anything I miss at FLC:

  • Unlink [[United States|American]], common geographical terms shouldn't be linked per WP:OVERLINK.
  • "He has appeared in over sixty television shows and films"
  • "Eastwood ventured into directing in the 1970s" "ventured" leads to the inference that it was but a side job, not a focused effort, can you use a better verb (very picky, I know)?
  • "a box office revenue tracking website"-->a box-office-revenue tracking website
  • "films which Eastwood "-->films that Eastwood
  • Put em dashes in the blank cells. I forgot to mention this in the Arnold Schwarzenegger filmography FLC. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:54, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Name credits edit

I agree with the recent changes that have attempted to be made. I understand the common name principle, I don't think that applies here. We're not talking about how the character should be referred to in other texts, we're talking about the credited role. The character from A Fistful of Dollars is "Joe". Joe may also be referred to as the "Man with No Name", but he's still Joe. I don't think we should start using nicknames for literary characters in the columns designated for credits. WP:COMMONNAME: "Some topics have multiple names ... [Wikipedia] generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)". The name "Man with No Name" is more recognizable than Joe, Manco, and Blondie. This also makes sorting names easier. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 20:19, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'll stand by my vote, especially given that I don't believe they're necessarily the same character, as the man with no name was an invention of the American marketplace. But until there's a majority vote in this direction, I won't make the change, I'll stick with the community vote. SweetTaylorJames (talk) 04:32, 27 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
