What is a "residential city"? As opposed to, say, a "non-residential city"? Did the author mean "bedroom community" or "suburb"? thx. -THB 07:31, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Los Angeles or San Bernardino?

Although Chino Hills is located in San Bernardino County, I believe it is generally considered a suburb of Los Angeles because, although its residents travel to both cities, they are more likely to travel west to L.A. than to San Bernardino. Reviewing traffic patterns on the freeway seem to substantiate this. What are the distances from Chino Hills to Los Angeles versus San Bernardino? What do others think? Definitely. It's 28 miles to LA and 40 to San Bernardino, with traffic heading east substantially worse. Most in Chino Hills do all their shopping and errands in neighboring cities like Brea, Diamond Bar, San Dimas, Phillips Ranch, rarely heading east of Ontario.71.116.174.195 23:34, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

I was accused of vandalism by User:MountCan for keeping Chino Hills as a suburb of Los Angeles rather than of San Bernardino. I would like other editors that know the area to weigh in on the appropriate city. Thanks, Alanraywiki (talk) 22:23, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Because so many residents of Chino Hills work in both Los Angeles and in Orange County, maybe just referring to it as a suburb would be a compromise wording: Chino Hills is a suburb located in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Below it said it was a suburb of LA, now its in the SB-Riv Metro, why would it be an LA suburb? Would you be okay if we removed LA suburb? Or how about we add "...is a suburb in the Riverside-San Bernardino metropolitan area? House1090 (talk) 04:55, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

I removed any reference in that section to being a suburb of anywhere, and the lead section just indicates just that it is a suburb. Just because it is in San Bernardino County does not mean that San Bernardino should be a reference point. As Los Angeles is one of the most well-known cities in the world and is closer to Chino Hills than San Bernardino, it is a better reference point. Alanraywiki (talk) 05:01, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

But that does not make it an LA suburb, its in SB metropolitan area. But yea it is closer to LA, I guess I could live with it being an LA suburb, even if I dont agree, its fine if you want to change it back. House1090 (talk) 05:05, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

If one looks at commuter flow data [1], it becomes quite obvious that Chino Hills is a suburb of Los Angeles. The top 10 places of work for residents of Chino Hills are as follows (with number of residents working in said places listed): (1) Los Angeles 3400, (2) Chino Hills 3215, (3) Chino 1875, (4) Ontario 1305, (5) Pomona 1295, (6) Anaheim 1290, (7) Brea 975, (8) Diamond Bar 690, (9) Santa Ana 670, (10) Fullerton 580. Total flow into employment areas breaks down as follows: 10% stay in Chino Hills, 23% work in Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario area, 44% work in Los Angeles area, 22% work in Santa Ana-Anaheim area. vandalism

there's been a strange increase in vandalism. people seem to be taking off digits from the income levels (i.e., $100,349 --> $70,439) and population to make them both seem lower. anyone know why this may be? 71.116.173.172 (talk) 05:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

the old protection order should be maintained due to the lottery winning there, as evidenced by the above comment, which is not appropriate here but at least is not in the article.
