Questions of relevance and factual accuracy
editLong time reader, first time editor here.
As someone with a strong interest in polar exploration, particularly the expeditions of Admiral Byrd, I had honestly never heard of this man before. I would question whether the claims he made about himself ought to be given such strong credence as there seems to be little third party verification, For instance there do not seem to be any references confirming that he was even on the 1928 Byrd expedition, let alone that he had a leading role. Most of the information about him appears to have been written by himself and most of the sources cited are reviews of, or reactions to, his own book so I would question whether he even ought to have an article at all and I certainly think there should be healthier scepticism of the claims he made. 89.240.246.199 (talk) 06:28, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
