I messed up the move. I used the wrong Lemma. The correct Lemma is Charles of Württemberg--Tresckow 00:23, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is better to be left at Charles I of Württemberg. The ordinal, which is sometimes used in literature anyway, makes it clearer that the subject was a monarch, and not just any Charles from W. Shilkanni 03:16, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm dubious about this article. A google search for "wurttemberg 'charles woodcock'" turns up almost nothing that isn't a copy of this page. Could someone find an RS to back this up? -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 16:13, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

i found it in the book Mann für Mann by Bernd-Ulrich Hergemöller, Pages 409, 410. GLGermann (talk) 12:50, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can find quite a lot information in:
  • Paul Sauer. Regent mit mildem Zepter. König Karl von Württemberg, Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt Stuttgart, 1999
in pages 233 and following.

There are reliable sources about the homosexuality of Karl I, King of Württemberg. Even more, I read that the Prussian leadership with Chancellor Otto von Bismarck was furious about that fact. However, in 1886, King Ludwig II of Bavaria had been removed from the throne, a man obviously insane and homosexual. For that reason - and considering the reputation of the German Reich and its states -, it was written that the Prussian leaders shied away from removing another German king because of being homosexual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh4000 (talkcontribs) 13:03, 16 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
