The MadmanBot template has been removed, because the origin of both text is a pd-source: Minutes of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Institution of Civil Engineers (Great Britain). 1862. p. 378-80

Correction of date of death

edit

The date of death has been corrected, see here. This initial date was based on the 1862 ICE Memories. This source gives the 22nd of October, 1860 as date of death, but describes that Cheffins died at the age of 54. With 10 September 1807 as his date of birth, his day of death should have been after 10 September 1861. The corrected date is based on the contemporary source: The Solicitors' Journal and Reporter, Volume 5. Nov. 2, 1861. -- Mdd (talk) 14:39, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is confirmed with another source The Mechanics Magazine December 27, 1861. p. 425,, which lists Cheffins as "deceased during the year". -- Mdd (talk) 14:45, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Curious enough in Art and the Industrial Revolution. (1972, p. 139) by Francis Donald Klingender and Arthur Elton speak of "...Charles Cheffin (1777-1844).". This "fact" seems to be copied in the "John Cooke Bourne" biography on the Online science, Science Museum. -- Mdd (talk) 15:38, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
