The trunk, with the victim's shoes and bag

Created by Edwardx (talk) and Philafrenzy (talk). Nominated by Edwardx (talk) at 21:28, 1 August 2022 (UTC).Reply

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited:   - For ALT1, I found the True Crime Library source says underwear, but not "knickers" specifically. Does the offline source state this?
  • Interesting:
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall:   - Image licensing is good, assuming the author was anonymous. I've included the source for ALT1 in the template, as is usually done. AGF on offline source for ALT0. I prefer ALT1 as it is more concise and punchy, though there are the sourcing issues I mentioned above. Yeeno (talk) 03:39, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Philafrenzy and Edwardx: Have the above been addressed? Z1720 (talk) 19:47, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, Z1720. Like many Wikipedians, I have far too many books, and the offline source volume was temporarily mislaid. Alas, it does NOT mention knickers. Another book does, and I must have failed to add it to the article, but have now done so. This is Murder by Numbers "Minnie was identified via a pair of knickers found inside". So, "underwear" is "knickers". And with the URL Link, no need to AGF. Hope that helps. Edwardx (talk) 21:29, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for finding the source, Edwardx. I can't access the URL source myself due to preview limitations, but it is better than nothing, and I'm sure someone else can verify it. Both hooks are   approved. Yeeno (talk) 02:57, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I actually prefer ALT1 without the word "to": "... that a dead woman's knickers helped solve the Charing Cross Trunk Murder (trunk pictured)?" is more concise. Edwardx, does this wording work for you? Yeeno (talk) 03:04, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, Yeeno. Agreed. Have trimmed "to". Edwardx (talk) 07:03, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
  Awesome, ALT1 is ready. Yeeno (talk) 20:26, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
