Date of birth

It can't be all that easy to find reliable sources that clearly state every celebrity's date of birth. Not sure we need to be overly strict in that regard. Unless it's all a mess, like Lee Grant. In my opinion, the Western Clipping interview with Boyd Magers sufficiently support her DOB being 6 April 1919. It is literally in the first sentence of the text. The only thing missing is having the website as an inline citation, instead of just under "External links". Thoughts? OscarL 18:19, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

I tend to think both @Teblick: and yourself are correct. Tbh, I hadn't thought to check external links, but that interview is a sufficient source. I understand where Teblick is coming from though, as there are so many actors who have had their birth dates and/or years incorrectly stated (even in published books and by very credible newspapers at times). I don't think we'll have to resort to this but there's also a clickbait-type article from Best Life here which gives her DOB. If there are no objections, then I think we should restore the DOB and directly cite the Western Clipping interview as the source. Thoughts? --Jkaharper (talk) 19:25, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

OscarLake and Jkaharper, Adding a citation to Western Clippings sounds good to me. I just think the date should be cited in the lead (or at least somewhere in the article). Still alive?

Is she seriously still alive in 2022 at the age of 103? I cannot find any confirmation of this in the article, or elsewhere on the internet. I suggest the article be changed to consider her a possibly living person, and the age template should be removed. Torbslifre (talk) 23:26, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

The media covered her for her 100th birthday in 2019. As per WP:BLP, we can only move people to the Possibly Living People category (and remove age templates) if they're aged 90+ and haven't been confirmed alive for 10+ years. As such, she cannot be moved to this category until 2029. It's unlikely that she died off radar given the huge cult following of The Wizard of Oz. --Jkaharper (talk) 23:30, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

Woah, that's pretty amazing. She must certainly be among the oldest living people in the US at this point. Is there any information from centarian lists or otherwise regarding where she ranks? Hi @Torbslifre:, she's nowhere near the top of that list yet. There are 97,000 centenarians living in the USA. The top three were born in Nov 1907, Feb 1908 and Jun 1908, respectively. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 17:53, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
