Cape Codder

edit

I'm not sure its a good idea to include the map of the former Amtrak Cape Codder service. I think this could be confusing for readers are on the CapeFLYER page because they're interested in Boston to Cape Cod service, which I think should be the focus of this page.FFM784 (talk) 03:02, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I believe it's relevant because it was the last rail service of any type offered to the Cape with mainland connections. It doesn't need anything more than a couple sentences, but the history would be markedly incomplete without it. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a travel guide. I agree. Amtrak's Cape Codder was an important milestone in the long road to the return of passenger service to the Cape. But I took the map out since it seems to me that many readers will be confused by this map. The primary focus of the CapeFLYER page should be on the new Boston to Cape Cod passenger service, which has a very rich history of its own. FFM784 (talk) 03:42, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. Sometime when I'm bored I'll probably do the research on the Cape Cod & Hyannis and make a route map for that, which would be more appropriate. Hopefully this summer the article will get populated with images of the new service running anyway. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 04:43, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm looking around for a B&W image from the 50s that can be included in the Return of Boston to Cape Cod service section. The image I'm thinking of has a set of trains on at Buzzards Bay station. When I find something I'll post it. 67.85.226.48 (talk) 16:38, 20 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
The major distinction between the two articles and the two trains is that Amtrak's Cape Codder offered New York (as opposed to Boston) to Cape Cod service. That has not been restored with the CapeFlyer service.Dogru144 (talk) 16:28, 3 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

The result of the proposal was moved to CapeFlyer. --BDD (talk) 19:16, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

CapeFLYERCape Flyer – I made this move but was reverted, so I'm going to put it up for discussion. MOS:FOLLOW states that trademark capitalization shouldn't be used in titles unless it's an acronym, and to my knowledge it's not. Therefore I'm proposing that this page be moved to either Cape Flyer or CapeFlyer. — Train2104 (talk • contribs) 12:29, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
