I think a "citation needed" in an article about a major league ballplayer concerning the facts of a particular game played by that ballplayer, such as batting results, home runs, etc., stuff that is covered by normal baseball statistics, helps nothing. Such things are easily verified from any number of sources by anyone with an internet connection. There's no need to document those sources here. For example, the source I've added for Maybin's rather unusual 2cd major league game is one anybody could come up with anytime.
Challenging and removing inaccurate information is where the focus should be. Throwing in cheap "citation needed" tags instead of either supplying the needed reference with two or three minutes of effort, or ignoring the issue and moving on, is just not of any help or use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poihths (talk • contribs) 01:11, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
