Sources edit

Atsme:

I found some videos that we might put in an External links section:

There are other various videos of interviews and cutting, but need to be verified so no copyright violation videos are added. Shall I make a short list here?

Here are some new sources that could be used in the article, but I need you to verify:

  • Sheila Welch Dies This article refers you to the next link, www.sallyharrison.com
  • Sheila Welch, 1938 – 2014 This is Sheila's blog. But sometimes blogs are acceptable according to policy if the writer is an expert who writes formal material on the subject.

Great video - works well for an external link. Don't need too much about Sheila - any RS obit will work. The big ranches he worked for and the horses Buster trained are important...especially the King Ranch horses, his own ranch and the activities he hosted, his personna as a real cowboy and modest lifestyle, the saddles and bits he designed, and so forth. You can start [1] and see how things progressed. You can pull-up the details once you get the outline done. This article can easily grow into something that has GA/FA potential. I'll try to find some photos that can be licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0. Atsme📞📧 00:22, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will put in a few videos that are from reliable sources but not go overboard. I fixed the link so that the article doesn't come up in print mode anymore. Message received regarding the extra links on Sheila. The summary you wrote up is very helpful. I've come across the 6666 and King Ranches before. In fact, the article I wrote on Eternal Sun has a King Ranch horse in his pedigree. I was going to ask about a photo, but you beat me to it. The infobox made me think about it. dawnleelynn(talk) 03:16, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Atsme, I need some guidance now. I believe I've pulled most of the content out of the sources, although I had some trouble with the magazine article and there is still some there. I am one of those write then rewrite type of writers. I also wrote everything in the Career section chronologically and kept things separated by event for purposes of being able to edit easier and locate things. It's not how it is intended to be in the final version; it's just a draft. This might be a good time for you to go through and remove unneeded details. Next, I have found some additional sources, but I would like you to vet them as to reliability or whether you think they have good content to use. I'll make a bullet list here. Let me know when I should work on it again. Thanks!

dawnleelynn(talk) 18:46, 29 March 2018 (UTC) p.s. There are some holes I'd like to fill and some people/places I'd like to see if we can get more info. on. I had a bit of a learning curve here to get started. But I've picked up a lot. Also, when do we need have something for a DYK, what's the deadline? dawnleelynn(talk) 19:18, 29 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Well, we can worry about DYK after we get the article promoted to GA status. Tomorrow, I'll review what you've done. It has been an extremely long day for me today so I'll be checking out soons. Thank you for all you've done!!! Atsme📞📧 23:40, 29 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I don't get much done in the evening myself. I might do an hour or so later. I am not employed right now but I when I am run towards workaholic so I can relate. I've enjoyed working on it. I'll see if I can find out about my question regarding the four NHCA champs. Rest up! Also, not assuming you have a job necessarily, there are other reasons you can have a busy day. Good to know about the DYK and not to worry about it now. My DYK goes up tonight, by the way on steer roper Guy Allen. Also an idea is that you can use strikeout on the sources that are no good. Talk to you tomorrow. dawnleelynn(talk) 23:50, 29 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
I figured out the NCHA champs issue I had and updated the document. That part is all good now. dawnleelynn(talk) 03:29, 30 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Further clarification needed. For these two races I'm not quite sure where they fit. I've tried to find more information but not much comes up. In 1960 Jessie Jack/James? won the NCHA World Champion Stallion title. Is that part with Stallion on the end a real title? And in 2011 Bet Hesa Cat NCHA Futurity Champions Cup (returning NCHA Futurity winners) limited info. dawnleelynn(talk) 03:35, 30 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Can someone fix the 'In popular media' source I added? I'm kind of tarded — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.112.200.104 (talk) 06:54, 29 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
