Breton contradictionEdit

Perhaps someone who knows could resolve this contradiction, and difficult English, in the Breton horse article? Here's the possibly problematic edit, and the IP editor trying to fix but having trouble. User:, feel free to post here for help, or at the WP:Teahouse.

A thank you in advance to anyone taking this up. HLHJ (talk)

Pending proposal to declare NSPORTS (and NEQUESTRIAN) an invalid argument at AfDEdit

A new proposal is now pending to add language to NSPORT providing, among other things, that "meeting [NSPORTS or NEQUESTRIAN] would not serve as a valid keep argument in a deletion discussion." If you have views on this proposal, one way or the other, please feel free to add your comments at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Subproposal 1 (NSPORT). Cbl62 (talk) 17:59, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

"Equestrian" at the Summary OlympicsEdit

An RfC of interest to members of this project is currently ongoing at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Sports#"Equestrian"_at_the_Summary_Olympics. Your participation would be welcome. Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 15:16, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

There was also a RM discussion at Talk:Equestrian at the Summer Olympics ... until RandomCanadian closed it down to start his own version. RC, I started that discussion in support of the move you'd made, and which had been (mistakenly, in my view) reverted. Perhaps you'd like to rethink your action, which was at best bloody rude, and probably out of process too. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:43, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
@Justlettersandnumbers: The idea is that this affects many many pages, so in the interest of avoiding wasting time, and of avoiding inconsistency, one centralised discussion covering all of them was started instead. Again, this was purely procedural. Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 01:05, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

User script to detect unreliable sourcesEdit

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[ Article of things]" ''''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.
