I'd argue that there's far too much info in this article about the shows he was host of, and not about the man himself (the story about the baseball pitchers belongs as a fun fact about TTTT, not about Collyer - similar stories are all over about Beat the Clock. However, at this time I don't want to delete the information which will leave the article relatively sparse at the moment TheHYPO 10:11, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Contradictory sources on date of marriage to Marian Shockley

I'm seeing a lot of contradictory information about the date of their marriage:

• This article currently gives 1952, with no citation. But I did find a citation for that year in this book.
• Marian Shockley's article currently gives a date of 1946, cited to a Chicago Tribune obit, with the quote "In 1946 he married Marian Shockley, a radio soap opera co-star"
• In a chapter about the radio series Bride and Groom, Cox 2001 claims that Collyer and Shockley were married on said program in 1948. Full cite: Cox, Jim (2001). The great radio audience participation shows: seventeen programs from the 1940s and 1950s. McFarland & Company, Inc. p. 65. ISBN 0-7864-1071-X.
• A January 1948 magazine profile includes the following: "A year ago they eloped to Maryland and were married." (pg. 72)

Four sources, four different years. If anyone knows of any further sources that could help clarify this, that would be great. Seems like the most likely explanation is that they eloped in 1947, then had a ceremony for the 1948 show even though they were already legally married? But I'm just speculating. For now, if the template allows, I'll update the marriage date to something like "circa 1947". I'm also going to remove the claimed 1951 date for his divorce from Heloise Law Green, since it's not cited, and it would seem to contradict what RS say about the timing of his second marriage.
