The essential characteristic of broadcasting, and hence of broadcast engineering, is that transmittions are aimed at anyone who chooses to receive them; not at some particular receiver(s). 82.38.97.206mikeL

Transmitters

Knowledge section lists subareas of broadcasting. I searched for transmitters planning in vain. Naturally, they must be within RF subsection. But they are not. Certainly, maintenance or satellite are different areas. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 14:33, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Licensing

You need a license to operate a broadcast radio or television transmitter, don't you? I have been looking for information on this and have been unable to find it. Shouldn't this be in the article? --ChetvornoTALK 09:30, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
