Please do not delete this. I'm working on it.

Brian Steidle has done more than most anyone else living or dead to draw attention to the gruesome truths about what's happening in Darfur. He's certainly noteworthy. Thank you!

Please bear with indiscretions, as I'm actively editing this page. I assure you, I'll resolve any remaining issues shortly. Thank you.--JT 01:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I thought the 'under construction' tag would be useful, while you're working on the article. SteveRamone 01:13, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Under Construction

edit

Thanks, Steve! I'm an author, but not all that into the whole Wiki thing... thanks for the constructive solution and assistance! (Maybe you can help with tags?) --JT 01:39, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

WAITING

edit

I've kinda run out of substance at the moment... but am waiting on a reply or two from inquiries before I remove the Construction flag. --JT 20:23, 6 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

needs more nuetral tone

edit

while the person in the article deserves positive view but this is an encyclopedia. The current tune of article is more of an advertisment rather than nuetral informative tone.Farmanesh 05:29, 8 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your opinion. I don't happen to agree, since there's nothing being sold. It's unfortunate that a lack of negative thoughts on the man should make it seem like an advertisement. Feel free to add a Con to the Pro take, if you have something else to share? --JT 13:44, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid Farmanesh is right. All articles on Wikipedia have to be neutral in tone as well as contain only verifiable information. I've rewritten the article extensively to make it comply better with those policies.
Essentially, articles must limit themselves to factual and verifiable statements only, not things like "History is sure to show that he played a key role in lessening the suffering of those people." I'd be happy to respond to any questions you might have about the changes I made, and change the article further if you feel I stripped too much out of it -- though like I say, anything that remains has to be neutral in tone and verifiable.--Father Goose 02:43, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The image File:Devil came on horseback.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Revert to earlier version

edit

This article has was edited several times in May by User:Brian.steidle, and had a number of issues:

  • WP:COI -- the editor's username suggests that the article's subject was editing the page about himself
  • Style -- these recent revisions left the article with no lead section, internal links, or inline references.

I have restored an earlier revision of the article to address these issues. Content regarding Steidle's public speaking and further political involvement (present in the copyvio version but not earlier/current revisions) should be reliably sourced before being reintroduced. katherine_a (talk) 14:03, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Acronyms

edit

"Steidle is a proven African expert, providing guidance and strategic advice ... to ... DOD, SOCOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, and DHS ICE."
It may be that readers in the US recognise these acronyms, but many non-US readers wouldn't; they have to find out what DOD, SOCOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, and DHS ICE stand for. At the very least, can there be hyperlinks to each? If not, consider spelling them out in full: e.g. Department of Defense (DOD), etc. (I may be wrong that DOD = Dept. of Defense, BTW.)
