Year of birth

Someone changed Donlevy's year of birth from the accepted 1901 to 1889. Given the vast disparity in the years some proof has to be submitted or I will revert back to 1901. Census records, or anything else would be helpful. Thanks. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 16:35, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I changed it back based on Social Security Death Index records, which confirm the 1901 year of birth. 1889 was evidently vandalism. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 16:41, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

World War I service

For unaccountable reasons, Donlevy often is mentioned online as having flown in World War I, when he was about 17 years old. He was definitely never in the Lafayette Escadrille (all 38 pilots are known), nor does his name appear in Sloan's "Wings of Honor," covering both the larger Lafayette Flying Corps and the US Army aviation branch. Donlevy's IMDB entry contains the Lafayette fallacy and apparently is the source for other repetitions. Apparently he did become a private pilot with a Navion light aircraft, but there is no indication that he ever flew in any nation' military.

Some newspapers reported he was a member of the Lafayette Flying Corps, but he's not listed in that article. There are also some mentions of him being a flying instructor in World War II, but I'm not finding any reliable sources for that either. Looks like Hollywood hype. Erroneous Irish birth

I deleted references to him being of Irish birth. Citations do not support it, but clearly show he was American by birth. Eastcote (talk) 11:56, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

"Television" section requires renaming

I don't care what new title is given, but the section currently titled "Television" must be renamed. Fewer than half of the projects named are television productions, the majority are theatrical films and Broadway. Canonblack (talk) 01:42, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
