"bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Western University"? edit

"Western University" should be wikilinked, but it's not clear what this institution is. The quote is from Patch.com, which does not offer any information, like location, beyond the school's name.

Is it University of Western Ontario, "branded as Western University as of 2012"? It would be nice to know, but I can't find anything further about Raffensperger's undergraduate education. Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 00:41, 17 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Larrykoen, he attended the University of Western Ontario, when it was called Western University. It was wikilinked properly in the infobox, but not in the body, so I have corrected that. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:46, 17 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 30 December 2020 edit

The information about Brad Raffenspergers brother appears to be politically motivated. 1 media source is not enough to justify including this information. 98.215.89.195 (talk) 17:37, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not done If you mean it "appears to be politically motivated" because it pointed out that Donald Trump said something that isn't true, you are correct. I will flesh that out. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:46, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Trump-Raffensperger Scandal edit

As widely reported by The New York Times, the Washington Post, and ABC, a scandal is currently occurring by reports that Trump tried to persuade Raffensperger in the election results. Because of that I added a mention of it and a Template on Current Events. Because of that I recommend that people refrain from editing too much because it's an ongoing event and we aren't sure what is going on. So I just wanted to let people know I put the "ongoing" template as of right now and to prevent disruptive editing. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marcosoldfox (talkcontribs) 05:22, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the dispute with Trump, shouldn't it be mentioned that there was never signature checks on the request to have it audited? Signature checks are the only way to confirm if there has been illegal tampering with the election. Lkoler (talk) 01:26, 4 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect Scandal Date edit

As of January 4, 2020, a scandal which included an attempt by Donald Trump to persuade Raffensperger to change election results has been ongoing.

As of 3 January 2020, an hour-long phone call between US President Donald Trump and Raffensperger took place . . .

The year in both above noted instances should be corrected to 2021 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alikin1953 (talkcontribs) 05:34, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I'm sorry; the New Year has just arrived and mistook it for a second. The correct date is January 3, 2021; and the question of the issue is "today." Thank you for pointing it out. Marcosoldfox (talk) 05:56, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

A new Scandal is happening right now edit

So for that I'd recommend that editors refrain from editing too much. It is a current event and so the new data may not convey accurate information and/or there are multiple rumours going on right now. So let's keep from editing too much without sure references and to prevent editing disruption. Take it to Trump-Raffensperger Scandal in order to refer to current information and not so much editing on the politician's page. Thanks, folks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marcosoldfox (talkcontribs) 20:27, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

That suggestion doesn't make any sense. The fact that events are rapidly unfolding is a reason to make a lot of edits to the page, to keep it as current as possible. Steve Smith (talk) 21:16, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Is it? I thought it'd be the other way around, because then it'd prevent disruptive editing and avoid the insertion of unverified information. But that's a good point you're making though. Let's just make sure that all info has references and that there are no attack edits on the page, because when events like this happens, it might attract disruptive editors which is definitely not a good thing, especially on a living person's biography. Thanks for the suggestion though. Marcosoldfox (talk) 22:19, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lede sentence edit

This sentence in the lede, "Around January 3, 2021, a scandal which included an attempt by Donald Trump to persuade Raffensperger took place, in which the president apparently attempted to pressure Raffensperger during a taped phone call", is rather awkwardly worded and momentarily confused me even as a native English speaker. Is there a way to improve the grammar of this part of the lede? Spengouli (talk) 00:52, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Comment Yes, it can be changed in a way that seems less awkward, if changing it would make reading comprehension easier.Marcosoldfox (talk) 01:24, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

This statement is incorrect. You need to actually listen to the entire phone call. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.230.202.30 (talk) 01:34, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Typo edit

Hello, I've not edited Wikipedia before so I'm unclear with the formatting for the talk page, but I wanted to note to someone who has access to edit this page that the last sentence in the first paragraph misspells his name as "Raffensberger" instead of "Raffensperger". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.144.2.121 (talk) 07:30, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Done. Thank you for pointing that out. -- Pemilligan (talk) 22:23, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Trump-Raffensperger Scandal bis edit

shouldn't it be specified that he had no intention to leak that tape at the start meaning he would have hide evidence of such action from president Trump had this one not lied to start? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz2gi9XWfsg

you can litteraly hear it from his mouth and it change the perception it give on him knowing he'd have hide this whole thing to start 2A02:2788:A8:E65:FD74:9B7E:F4D2:203B (talk) 17:54, 7 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Citation for age edit

How do I find the citation for his age? In general how does one find citations for the infobox? DaxMoon (talk) 00:33, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 30 March 2021 edit

Right now the article makes it sound like the phone call was leaked by some random source.

I think the part on the phone call should mention how after the call Trump tweeted “I spoke to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger yesterday about Fulton County and voter fraud in Georgia. He was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the 'ballots under table' scam, ballot destruction, out of state 'voters,' dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”

and then at Raffensperger's direction the tape was leaked and Raffensperger later said “It was a private conversation as far as I was concerned, and he broke privacy when he put out a tweet. But then his tweet was false,” and "If President Trump wouldn’t have tweeted out anything and would’ve stayed silent, we would’ve stayed silent as well”

This was a pretty key part of the story and belongs in the main article in my opinion.

Please provide the exact edit you'd like to make, including the text you'd like to add, remove or change and sourcing to support it. Are you sure the edit request template isn't to request someone else do the writing for you? Can you provide a citation please?DaxMoon (talk) 05:09, 13 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Should there be a new section for the 2020 election since its such a prominent event and he played a somewhat large role in it Teenyplayspop (talk) 03:42, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
