I cannot find any evidence that Kustodiev is considered an art deco painter. Further, the term art deco was coined in 1925, just two years before Kustodiev died. So I am replacing this characterization with the indisputable phrase "painter and stage designer".

The Merchant's Wife edit

The Merchant's Wife. is not exactly how painting is called in original language (Russian). In Russian it's more like "Купчиха за чаем" -> "The She-Merchant at drinking tea". The important bit here - it's not a wife of a merchant, but she is merchant itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soswow (talkcontribs) 04:27, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

For the record, the Russian Wikipedia has a long article on the painting: ru:Купчиха за чаем. --50.53.40.122 (talk) 08:36, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
