Too much info for a goon player

edit

This article should be trimmed down considerably. This guy has played a grand total of 60-some NHL games and we don't need every detail of the career of a guy who's a borderline player at best. Who wrote this long article... his parents? 47.55.192.66 (talk) 22:16, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Following on from the discussion at User talk:EvergreenFir#Bobby Farnham, here is the entire version of the article before the current kerfuffle started.

So, let's start identifying what can be kept. I've never attempted such a discussion before, but I hope this works. Let's strike out the sourced text so it doesn't distract us. Perhaps we can then use colours, underlining or some other methods to identify what can be re-added to the article. I am open to any other suggestions if someone knows a better way. Edit - I have removed the pasted text above, as it is probably a clumsy way to do it. I've looked over all of the pre-professional information and the only thing which I cannot find a source for is the statistics for his final year at college. It is clear he played four seasons at Brown, so I think all of the early life, high school and university sections should stay. Now it is time to look at his professional career. The following text is what has been removed by IP47 from the professional career section:

In his attempt to pursue professional hockey, Farnham was signed to an AHL tryout deal by the Providence Bruins in March 2012. After being released from AHL tryouts from Providence, the Worcester Sharks and Hamilton Bulldogs, Farnham signed an ECHL contract with the Wheeling Nailers on October 10, 2012.

After only 9 games with Wheeling (ECHL), Farnham's aggressive, agitating style of play and combination of speed and hitting ability had established himself as a player that deserved a call-up. On November 7, 2012 Farnham was loaned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. After 11 games with WB/S, Farnham had effectively brought his uptempo agitating game to the AHL compiling 51 penalty minutes, and was rewarded with a contract extension penciling him in as a full-time AHL player.

On December 19, 2012, Farnham recorded his first professional goal when he scored on Robin Lehner of the Binghamton Senators.

Farnham would take place in his first NHL fight in his first NHL game, taking on Jordan Leopold.

Farnham made the Penguins opening night roster to begin the 2015–16 season. He featured in 3 games before he was placed on waivers on October 25, 2015. The following day under the familiarity of former Penguins staff, coach John Hynes and general manager Ray Shero,
