Paid/conflicted editing

See Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard/Archive_121#Ventus_again The socking semi-UPE has been indefinitely blocked both here and at de-WP. Jytdog (talk) 19:14, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The UPE and COI tags signify to editors and to readers that the article has been extensively edited by someone with a conflict of interest, and is likely to have bias, in the form of missing negative content, overemphasis on "positives", non-neutral language (all of which are violations of the WP:NPOV content policy), and is likely to have unsourced or poorly sourced content, in violation of the WP:VERIFY content policy. It is likely that the content promotes the subject of the article, in violation of the WP:PROMO policy. Independent editors need to review the article, including doing their own searches for sources to ensure that the article truly reflects what reliable sources say, and correct it, and then may remove the tag. If you do so, please leave a note here. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 19:18, 21 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Removing tags. Article has been considerably altered since the paid editor added material. Could use information about the research or this notable scientist (seems to have been removed in the cleanup) rather than just positions, but most academic articles are like this. Faculty page missing, retired at ASU

edit

Dr Hölldobler retired from ASU April 2023. I discovered this after trying to open his faculty homepage, which is no longer active. The introductory paragraph also needs to be updated. — StefanVanDerWalt (talk) 04:49, 15 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
