This article has been reverted by a bot to this version as part of a large-scale clean-up project of multiple article copyright infringement. There were two battles edit
The article's last paragraph or section declares that "The battle features in Bernard Cornwell's historical novel Vagabond—part of his Grail Quest trilogy ... A related account can be found in his book "Harlequin"".
Not so. There were two battles, the first in "Harlequin" is set some time before the events of "Vagabond", which post-dates the Battle of Crécy.
Cornwall relates in a historical note that in the first battle the Earl of Northampton took the town by escalade (direct attack using ladders to cross the walls).
