For dishes cooked or served in banana leaves, is the leaf itself eaten or is it discarded after the contents are eaten? 67.188.230.128 (talk) 05:34, 22 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
User:67.188.230.128, they are discarded. The leaves more or less serve the same purpose as wax paper or greaseproof paper. Except they also lend an appetizing plant-like fragrance to the dish they are cooked or served with. -- OBSIDIAN†SOUL 05:50, 22 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
