Learn how to edit Wikipedia first before inserting stuffs
editIt's difficult not to be tempted to think of reasons why people keep on appending their information to the end of the article. Someone from Uganda has an opinion and then inserts it right after the references. Someone from India decides to insert information at the end messing up the category label.
The information presented in this article is not backed up by any references and it seems to be original research and colloquial events seen through personal experiences and personal points of view.
There are no verifiable opinions in this article. How would I the reader know you are telling the truth about what happens to bamboo shoots in Japan or China or India or Uganda? How could I trust your personal opinions and observations unless you provide references to translate them into "facts"?
Perhaps this article should be deleted until all the PPOVs expressed here could be verified by references. I have tried to make grammatical and spelling corrections but now and then someone might just decide to insert his/her personal experience and ppov at the end of the article, not only ruining the sectioning of the article but ruining the grammatical expectations of Wikipedia.
For example, someone inserted this after the gallery section:
In Manipur Bamboo shoot is use in a wide variety of dish. Iromba, ooti and kangshu ar eto name a few
First, there isn't any fullstop/period. Second, why do you people keep inserting things at any old place they find convenient rather than at the appropriate section. Third, there is no verifiable means to determine if there are actually such dishes called Iromba, ooti and kangshu ar eto. How would we know that you did not just make them up? Wikipedia is not your personal blog. Finally, where is Manipur? I corrected it to Manipur, India by presuming that there is only one Manipur in the world.

- Heh, I've often noticed people adding things to the top of a list without checking whether it is already there! —Tamfang (talk) 22:44, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
Can someone knowledgeable in the subject please add a section on nutrition?
editI realize that there is more than one species of bamboo referenced here, so it may not be possible to make over general remarks on nutrition. Can something be done for the more common varieties?Pmarshal (talk) 07:46, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
Local names
editI question the appropriateness of a list of translations. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. If the etymology of a local name could illuminate some aspect of local culture, that might be useful, but the section now does no such thing. —Tamfang (talk) 09:01, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
