... that Ashton Hawkins, the former executive vice president of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, built a large network of donors to the museum while also helping to develop the field of art law?Source: “Ashton Hawkins, who was, officially, the executive vice president and counsel to the trustees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but who could more aptly be described as the chief curator of its vast collection of rich and powerful donors, died on Sunday at an assisted living facility in White Plains, N.Y. He was 84.”“A consummate social animal with impeccable taste and limitless energy, he might have been seen in any given week lunching with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, dancing with Brooke Astor and throwing a party for Andy Warhol — all while wading through the dizzyingly complex world of art law, a field he helped establish in the early 1970s.”

- Solid bio on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I believe that being instrumental in the wing for the Temple of Dendur might be more interesting than art law. If you want to stay with it, please fix the link to no redirect. The linked article is not in best condition. - How about an infobox for him? Please link where he studied. If you want to use "Met" please introduce it. Waiting for qpq. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:39, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestions, and thank you Thriley for all your hard work. I've added an infobox, linked Harvard, and changed "Met" to its full name. I like the idea of the hook focusing on Hawkins' work on the Temple of Dendur wing, but I'll leave that to Thriley as the nominator. --Noahfgodard (talk) 03:53, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- If you have a good wording, offer it and we can discuss. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:01, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that Ashton Hawkins, the former executive vice president of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, built a large network of donors to the museum and arranged for the construction of the wing housing the Temple of Dendur?
- @Gerda Arendt: Perhaps something like this? --Noahfgodard (talk) 06:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- I like that already better. I don't like the "former", and think "large" is redundant (or we wouldn't mention it):
- ALT1a: ... that as executive vice president of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ashton Hawkins built a network of donors to the museum and arranged for the construction of the wing housing the Temple of Dendur?
- ALT1b: ... that Ashton Hawkins arranged for the construction of the West Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, to house the Temple of Dendur?

- Thank you. I’m glad Dendur is getting a mention. Truly one of the great places in the museum. Thriley (talk) 20:53, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
