Having read the Napoleon article on Wikipedia it mentions Anna was refused Napoleon's hand in wedding after Napoleon requested. Should that not at least be mentioned?

War and Peace

edit

Is this the basis for the character of Anna Pavlona in War and Peace? No, she is not the basis for the character of Anna Pavlovna Sherer in "War and Peace" of Leo Tolstoy. Moreover, Leo Tolstoy meant not Peace but World in the title of his novel. Both words have become spelled the same in Russia after 1918, but Tolstoy wrote "World". He meant the court world as well... The grand duchess might not behave like Sherer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.131.84.202 (talk) 20:57, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

How can she be the Anna Pavlovna in War and Peace if she was born in 1795? The hostess Anna Pavlovna whose party opens the book is middle-aged in 1805, when the story begins. Evangeline (talk) 20:48, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Move Request

edit

This article was in its correct place, as she was a queen consort. A user, without even writing a reason for such move, moved this last October to a place in contravention to NC. This should be at Anna Pavlovna of Russia.

Moved. —Nightstallion (?) 19:24, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
