===Trivia=== (MOVED FROM ARTICLE)
- Despite having portraying a karate student on Growing Pains, Ami is not a real-life martial artist ("All they taught me was one move for the taping," she insists). Her husband, however, is a retired world-champion kickboxer.
- When Ami was young, her mother tied bells on her shoes...so as to know where the little girl was at all times.
- Her middle name was inspired by an actual field of bluebell flowers. Dad Micky originally wanted to name her Bluebell Dolenz. Good sense prevailed.
- One of Ami's first acting roles was a straight-to-video production, Shattered: If Your Kid's On Drugs, which was narrated by Judd Nelson and Burt Reynolds. It starred Megan Follows and Dermot Mulroney as high-school classmates who are introduced to narcotics and (temporarily) lose control of their lives as a result. Earl Holliman co-starred as Follows' worried father; Dolenz and Ricky Segall (of Partridge Family fame) portrayed two of her fellow rehab-patients.
