Talk:Altar call

Latest comment: 12 years ago by 165.214.4.23 in topic denominations

I'd be astonished of the altar call went back only as far as 1800. Any evidence? DJ Clayworth 20:27, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Good job! edit

My compliments to the author of this article. You summed up the concept very well and presented it rather objectively.Jlujan69 01:56, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

NPOV? edit

I suggest that someone edit this. It looks fishy on NPOV, at least at the beginning. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.145.179.154 (talk) 04:25, 8 December 2006 (UTC).Reply

Aye, heartfelt expression granting salvation? That's just not right! Homestarmy 23:59, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

History edit

Can somebody add more about the history of the Altar Call? Whilst Finney did have altar calls, I doubt he introduced them. (Pretty much everything else he wrote, or did can be traced to earlier writings/events.) jonathon (talk) 00:16, 21 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

denominations edit

More information about specifically which denominations practice altar calls would be helpful. Evangelical churches are mentioned, but where is it most prevalent? For example, how does a pentecostal altar call differ from a baptist one? This is touched on, but could be fleshed out some. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.214.4.23 (talk) 14:50, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
