He was famous for being a famous artist, and for the thinker right? I removed the words " works of art" after "decorative objects'. I think the point that is being made here is that in his early career Rodin's work was decorative and had not yet gone on to more monumental pastures. I have not checked the translation but since this is Rodin it's probably from French which makes me very competent to say the translation is wrong and needs to be checked. The french probably says something like 'il crėait à cette epoche des objets d'art décoratifs" and the meaning goes haywire at objets d'art vs "works of art", which to me implies sculpture and possibly frescoes and murals, not something a lady might put on her mantlepiece. Or not. It doesn't have that dissonance in it, though, I'd bet money on *that*

I will get back to nailing down what happened though exactly -- the point is that it is always the Carlos Slim Foundation and their Rodin exhibit where I find these so a) I think someone when through their catalogue, which actually isn't a bad idea if you ask me and if we aren't plagiarizing their text. I guess Rodin wouldn't still have copyright considerations would he? But someone should find out and document that we asked I need to go screen for Carlos Slim to see how much work we are talking about now Elinruby (talk) 10:43, 22 May 2017 (UTC).
